Professor in Department of Microbiology; Holds B. Sc. (Hons.) 1986, M.Sc. (1989), Ph.D. (1992) Ilorin with over 30 years’ experience in tertiary education teaching. Research interests include: valorization of agro-based wastes using fermentation to produce metabolites with industrial applications; Preservation of indigenous foods and beverages; antimicrobial studies (natural products); production of organic and biofertilizers. Current and past administrative duties include: Director, Centre for Gender Studies, Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences (August 2022 to 31st July 2024); Ag. Head, Department of Microbiology (2014- 2016); Sub Dean, Faculty of Science (2010-2013). Served on various Committees and Panels at Departmental, Faculty and University levels. Supervised five Ph.D., forty-five M.Sc. and over 200 B.Sc. research Projects. Recipient of two Senate Research and two Tetfund Institution based grants. Served as External Examiner and External Professorial Assessor to some universities. (Co)-authored over 60 papers in various Reputable national and international journals, books and edited Conference proceedings
