Shitu Teslim is a native of Ijagbo, Oyun local government area of Kwara state and an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Life sciences, University of Ilorin. Before joining the University, he worked as a lecturer at Federal College of Education, Katsina from year 2019 to 2023 and has also taught in several secondary schools as a class tutor. Shitu depicts professionalism and holds a Masters in the field of Microbiology with great expertise in advanced microbiological techniques and passionate about scientific research, innovation and sustainable development especially in areas of environmental microbiology, public health, water sanitation and hygiene, Microbial biofilms, Infectious diseases, Biodegradation and waste management, Biodeterioration, Food security, Soil and air quality assessment and Antimicrobial resistance. He is a member of the Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria, the American society for Microbiology and the Society for experimental biology of Nigeria.
