I am a Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria. I am the current Head of Department of Microbiology. I obtained my B. Sc. M. Sc. and Ph. D. in Microbiology from University of Ilorin. I had not less than 7 years working experience in Pharmaceutical and Food Processing industries. I joined the service of University of Ilorin in 2008. I have been contributing my quota to teaching, research and community service since 3[rd] July, 2008 till date. I have held a number of administrative positions at University, Faculty and Departmental levels. These positions include Academic level Adviser; Undergraduate Project and Seminar Coordinator; Chairman of Department of Microbiology on Results, equipment maintenance; Faculty of Life Sciences representative at: Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, GNS Board and Business Committee of Senate (BCOS). I was granted approval for sabbatical leave on 2[nd] January 2019 to 1[st] January 2020. I had my sabbatical leave at Al-Hikmah University Ilorin where I was appointed Acting Head, Department of Biological Sciences. I have supervised and still supervising many undergraduate and postgraduate students’ researches. Two of the Ph. D. students I co-supervised have completed their programmes. My research interest is in the field of Environmental Microbiology. I dwell more on Rhizosphere Microbiology, using Microorganisms in solving environmental challenges, Pathogenic Microorganisms in water and Food as well as development of Biofertilizers. I am the Principal Investigator on IBRT TETFUND research grant on the use of Azotobacter as biofertilizer won by my research team in 2018.
