Risikat Nike Ahmed is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Ilorin and joined the services of the University over two decades ago. She served as Head of Department for 2 years between 2018-2020, Deputy Director UNILORIN Technical and Entrepreneurship Centre for 2 years from 2020 to 2022. Her area of research interest is Industrial/Pharmaceutical Microbiology with focus on natural drug discovery and development from plants and microorganisms via fermentation processes. She has to her credit over 50 publications in reputable local, national and international journals outlets, edited conference proceedings and chapters in books. She has successfully supervised over 30 Masters dissertations and 3 Ph.D. theses. She has won several research grants over the course of her illustrious career.
