Biography

Risikat Nike Ahmed is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Ilorin for almost two decades. She has served as Head of Department for 2 years between 2018-2020, Deputy Director UNILORIN Technical and Entrepreneurship Centre for 2 years between 2020-2022. Her area of research interest focuses on synthesis of antimicrobial agents and drug development using fermentation processes. She has to her credit over 35 publications in reputable international and local journals outlets, edited conference proceedings and chapters in books. She has successfully supervised over 15 Masters dissertations and 7 Ph.D. theses. She has won several research grants over the course of her illustrious career.
